Montana Skies Labradors

Celestial Rosemary
“She is your Friend, your Partner, Your Dog.
You are her Life, her Love, her Leader.
She will be Yours, Faithful and True,
to the last Beat of her Heart”

How to describe my amazing Rosie.....? She is a Labrador through and through.

You know that saying, "All food must go to the Lab for tasting"? Well, that is Rosie.

How about this one, "Labradors, Once they love, they love steadily, unchangingly until their last breath"? Well, that is Rosie too.

Or, how about, "Welcome to the bathroom. A Labrador will be with you in a moment"? Yep, Rosie again.

I saw this poem online and although it is a little sappy for me, I thought it was a very good description of this wonderful breed;

"How can you not fully adore the happy aspect of a Labrador?
The otter tail, the silly grin, the open heart to take you in.
Sweet true love from earnest eyes, emotional truth, a friend so wise.
At play, at work, at rest, at ease, the Labrador was born to please."
Rosie is all of those things and more.
She loves to play with her squirrel and run through the ditch and back field finding all sorts of things to get her nose into. She is a mix of American (Field) type and English (Bench) type. She has enough energy to do all the things, but not so much that she cannot enjoy snuggling up for a nap. In My opinion, she is about the perfect mix of both styles of Labrador.
Rosie is so smart and tenacious, she often tests my abilities as a dog trainer. She learns very quickly and enjoys learning games the most. She has high prey drive but we have been working a lot on restraint and she is doing so well. We recently introduced three Kune Kune piglets to our farm and she absolutely adores them. They are her first stop every morning when we go out for chores. She would love to hang out with the goats as well, but only a few of the kids will touch noses with her. Rosie is not a hunting dog, only because I do not hunt. Instead, she is my companion/farm dog who enjoys playing with Agility obstacles and Rally courses.
She has been certified through OFA with normal elbows and excellent hips. She also has a clear genetic screening through Embark. I raise all of my dogs with Natural Rearing Methods and that has been true for Rosie since she was 8 weeks old. She did get her first shots before I got her, but I gave her a vaccine detox shortly after bringing her home.

Rosie is a wonderful mother. She births her puppies easily and cleans, feeds, and cares for them until the day they leave. She loves playing with them and teaching them what it means to be a Labrador.

Does Rosie have any faults? Of course not! She is my perfect Labrador, but then I suppose everyone who has a Labrador has "the perfect Labrador".
